Getting the Most Out of Your Wedding Photos

A wedding is a whirl wind experience. At the end of it all you will have from it is the love you and your new spouse share, your memories, and your photographs! You will want to make sure that your images are captured at their very best! There are a few things you can do to help make sure you end up with the best photographs possible.

Provide your photographer with a list of must take shots! This will greatly help your photographer to create the images you really want- the most special moments from your wedding day. We provide a shot list for all brides who choose to work with us to fill out, to make sure that your photographs are of the moments that mean the most to you.

Please consider asking a close friend not in the wedding party to help out by acting as the photographers guide. This person can help us make sure we get all the shots you want in, can help organize friends and family for formal portraits and can help make sure everything is in order- so you do not have to! This will ultimately help your photographer provide you with the images you want-and alleviate the stress of having to make sure everything is in order for photographs on your wedding day!

Have your designated helper help make sure Aunt Millie makes it into the family photos, your flower girls hair is not askew and the grooms men are looking their best. An extra set of eyes to help make sure your images are as perfect as possible will help you remember your wedding day as perfect as it is!

Throwing a surprise or two into your wedding or reception helps make it YOUR celebration of your love. Many couples use special or unique traditions in their ceremony or reception-we love this- its really cool to see a couple honoring family traditions or doing something meaningful to them as a couple- but you will want your photographer to make sure that it is photographed! Be sure to let your photographer know exactly what your plans are so not a moment is missed.

Your photographer is a creative professional. Give them the chance to take artistic or interesting shots-in addition to your standard traditional photos and candids. Small details and fun moments are often missed by the couple during their wedding day (due to stress and the fact that it just flys by!) but are dearly treasured later in albums. Consider taking some fun or silly posed traditional shots as well- that reflect your personality as a couple. They make for really fun images to share with family and friends later (and laughter is a great quick stress reliever!).

Many brides have a hard time deciding whether they would like their images in black and white or color. RedFeather Photography provides all digital services, so there is no need to select a film type and hope for the best - we can do both with any images- in addition to a wide variety of attractive effects.

While the choice is ultimately yours, we recommend mixing methods- making for a beautiful and aesthetically interesting collection of images from your special day! Color images make beautiful illustrations of your wedding- as it was- in vibrant hues. After all, you didn't select your color scheme for nothing! At the same time black and white images provide timeless, intimate and elegant portraits, drawing attention to facial features and expressions as well as delicate details. Mix both worlds with combo colored images- with special details or colorful bits colored back into a black and white images- for fun, style and flair! The possibilities are limitless!
