If you know me well you know that my go to baked good of choice to make is none other than bakerella’s beautiful cake pops. They are ridiculously easy, adorable and surprisingly tasty. So when my mom asked me to make something treat like (shes a cooker not a baker…she does things like leave sugar out of cheesecake or put olive oil in brownies) for the dessert auction at a chili cook off at her church (it was a good cause, they are raising money to help a family whose son was in a terrible accident) I could not resist.

They turned out super cute (too cute not to take pictures of) and apparently raised a good bit of money for the family! I hate to say it but while I prefer not to eat things I bake, I loooove to bake. We made campfire superfudge too (our own double layer fudge recipe with graham crackers, marshmallows and a whole lot of chocolate) because its Kirks favorite. What’s your favorite dessert to make at home?
First, allow me to apologize. I am so so so far behind on blogging. Personal stuff came up, we got busy with holiday orders and I just never caught up, so this dose of adorable is just a smidge overdue.
Second, let me just say this. I love my job. I extra love my job when I get to go play with someones adorable puppies (and sassy kitties). Seriously. How could you not love a job this cute?
Third, in celebration of all the wonderful fuzzy cute in all of our lives, I am thrilled to tell you we have started a pet focused part of our business- Bella Dog by RedFeather Photography! Website should be all wrapped up soon and I can’t wait to start capturing the amazing personalities of more fluffy, fuzzy, feathery and even scaly little family members! Look for the website soon!

Super ears!!!! Oh gosh it was so fun to watch these two puppers go play in the yard. They really do have a good time!

I hope you were not expecting him to share his tennis ball….

Their kitty was not a planned part of the shoot, but I just could not resist. She looks so grumpy, but shes soooo sweet!

Oodles more in their slide show…they are busy critters, and I just could not stop snapping shot after shot!

The End!

Happy New Year!!!! Can you believe its 2010? I can’t. It makes me feel old.
Of course, since it is now January 1st, its time to announce a winner for Giving is Awesome! We had gobs of heart wrenching and heart warming entries this year. There are truly some amazing people out there, and I appreciate every single person who spent time time to send us a note. Your hearts are so big!
In the end though, we can only choose one. Believe me, I would have loved to choose every single person. Kirk had to sit here reminding me that I do actually do this for a living. Hehe. So, instead we chose one really wonderful family.
I don’t have direct contact details for them yet (working on that now) and I can’t just go posting names without permission so you will have to wait on that part (sorry). You will just have to trust me that they really deserve this.
I can’t wait to meet them and their friend Holly who nominated them!
All that business out of the way, today is going to be an excellent start to the new year! We are on vacation this weekend and visiting my little sister and her boyfriend Ben in Los Angeles. Today we are headed for a behind the scenes aquarium tour and then Avatar. Tomorrow- Disneyland!!!! Wahooo!
Happy New Year to all- thanks for making 2009 so great. Looking forward to 2010!
